1. China CAC Issues First 12 Fines Under Companion AI Rules

2. Commission Starts Enforcing AI Act Rules on GPAI Model Providers

The European AI Office activated enforcement powers over general-purpose AI model providers on August 2, with authority to impose fines of up to EUR 15 million or 3 percent of global annual turnover. 3. Missouri AI Therapy Chatbot Ban Takes Effect August 28
