1. EU AI Transparency Code: Six Days Left to Sign for Presumption of Conformity

Companies subject to Article 50 of the EU AI Act must sign the EU AI Office’s Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content by July 22, 18:00 CEST to receive a presumption of regulatory conformity when enforcement begins August 2. Non-signatories will face heightened scrutiny from day one of enforcement, as regulators will publish an initial signatory list before the August 2 date that customers and national authorities will consult.
2. Senate AI Labeling Act of 2026: Bipartisan Bill Would Require Machine-Readable Disclosures on AI Content

Senators Brian Schatz, John Curtis, and Mark Warner introduced the AI Labeling Act of 2026 on June 25, requiring providers of generative AI systems to attach visible and machine-readable disclosures to AI-generated audio, video, and image content, with large online platforms required to flag such content and the FTC enforcing the requirements. If enacted, the bill would establish the first federal AI content disclosure standard, complementing California and Illinois state-level labeling laws already on the books.
3. UK AI Growth Labs Embed Regulators in AI Product Testing, Starting With Legal Services

The UK’s new AI Growth Labs place government regulators directly inside AI product development and testing, with legal services the first sector to run a sandbox this summer and healthcare, transport, and advanced manufacturing expected to follow through 2026-2027.
